Very dear readers of Orangette:<\/p>\n

The year draws to a close with good news. My little blog is one of five finalists for the “Best Food Blog\u2014Writing”<\/strong> section of the 2004 Food Blog Awards! To those who nominated me in the first round, a breathless, slobbery “Thank yoooooou!”<\/strong> I owe you kitchenfuls of baked goods filled with expensive chocolate and fancy-pants butter. And to the myriad friends and family who\u2019ve contributed to, appeared in, inspired, and\/or put up with this endeavor, know that Orangette would be nothing\u2014or at least very shrimpy and malnourished\u2014without you.<\/p>\n

That said, there’s this final-round business to attend to.

If you feel so moved\u2014and I hope you will\u2014please go to the Accidental Hedonist<\/a> website and cast your vote. And rally your friends and neighbors to do the same! I’m honored to be up against stiff competition and winning isn’t really so important, but the exposure is very, very valuable to this aspiring food writer.<\/p>\n
